Bob Beauprez Joins Board of Directors

Bob BeauprezSteamboat Springs, CO – January 29, 2015 – The Steamboat Institute announced today that Bob Beauprez has joined its Board of Directors. Bob is a Colorado native, buffalo rancher, author, former dairyman and Member of Congress.

Upon joining the Steamboat Institute Board, Bob said, “Benjamin Franklin, the eldest delegate to the 1787 Constitutional Convention, presciently captured both the gift and the challenge awaiting every generation of Americans when he said we had been given ‘A Republic, if you can keep it.’ It is an honor to be associated with an organization dedicated to that worthy purpose – saving this Republic – this ‘last best hope of earth,’ as Abraham Lincoln said.”

In 2002, Bob was elected as the first representative from Colorado’s seventh congressional district, and was re-elected in 2004. While in Congress, he served on the Ways & Means, Transportation, and Veterans Committees. He was the Republican nominee for Governor in 2006 and 2014.

In 2007, Bob founded a public policy e-magazine, A Line of Sight. As editor-in-chief, Bob built a national distribution and more than 100 contributing authors for the e-mag he describes as “food for the conservative soul.” His work has been featured in National Review, The Washington Times, Townhall.com, RealClearPolitics, Politico.com, The Hill, The Daily Caller The Denver Post and numerous other publications.

Bob’s political commentary is regularly sought after by television networks, major newspapers and radio stations through the U.S., as well as internationally. In 2009, Bob published his first book, A Return to Values: a Conservative Looks at His Party, that has been applauded for his bold “Agenda for America,” a strategic plan to reclaim the nation’s greatness.

In addition to his writing, political and other activities, Bob, along with Claudia, his wife of 44 years, operates Eagle’s Wing Ranch, a buffalo breeding ranch in the northern Colorado Mountains.

“We are honored to add Bob Beauprez to our Steamboat Institute team,” said Jennifer Schubert-Akin, Chairman and CEO of The Steamboat Institute. “His broad range of experience and his commitment to the principles that make America great are critically important as we continue to expand the reach and influence of the Steamboat Institute at the local, regional and national level.”

The Steamboat Institute is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) educational organization, founded in 2008, whose mission is “to educate the public on the Founding Principles of the United States, and to inspire people to be actively involved in their implementation.” For more information, please visit www.steamboatinstitute.org.
